Ready, Set, Draw!: Mixed Media Do you have a child who loves to draw, paint, and create? In Ready, Set, Draw!, students will dive into the wonderful world of visual art through a hands-on and imaginative drawing and painting program designed to nurture creativity and artistic confidence in young learners. In this engaging and thoughtfully guided course, students will learn how to break down complex images into simple shapes, helping them see the world like artists do. Using this step-by-step method, they’ll build full compositions and complete their own works of art each session. Throughout the course, we’ll explore a wide range of media, including colored pencils, markers, oil pastels, watercolors, tempera paints, and even mixed media using found objects and textiles. Students will be introduced to diverse artistic styles and subject matter, such as: * Still life and the basics of composition * Landscapes and cityscapes * The human form and facial expressions * Animals, sea life, and nature-inspired themes * Abstract and imaginative creations No prior art experience is necessary! This class is designed for all levels and supports the developmental needs of young artists by strengthening fine motor skills, improving focus and patience, and building confidence in creative expression. Most importantly, it encourages joy and self-discovery through art. Throughout the course, students will: * Learn core art concepts such as shape, line, color, texture, proportion, and perspective * Build skills in observation, creative thinking, and design * Develop their own portfolio of artwork to share and celebrate * Participate in friendly group discussions and peer encouragement * Have opportunities to present their favorite pieces in an end-of-session showcase Led by an experienced art educator with a strong background in children's art instruction, this class creates a fun, relaxed, and inspiring environment for artistic growth. Early Dismissal Wednesday Program: the last day to cancel any enrollment is 07/28/2025.
Once registration closes, changes will not be honored and no refunds will be given.
