Description‭ Exploring Electrical Engineering using Microsoft micro:bit and MakeCode (For K-1)‬ ‭ Subject: STEM, Electrical Engineering, Programming‬ ‭ Calling all young engineers and tech enthusiasts! Are you curious about how electronics work? Want to‬ ‭ create fun projects using circuits and code? Now’s your chance! In this exciting class, students will dive into the‬ ‭ basics of electrical engineering using the‬‭ micro:bit‬‭ chip, a fun-sized yet powerful and easy-to-use‬ ‭ programmable chip. With the help of‬‭ Microsoft MakeCode‬‭ and block-based programming, students will learn‬ ‭ to control electronics, sensors, and lights to build interactive projects! No prior programming or engineering‬ ‭ experience needed—just a love for discovering how things work!‬ ‭ Students will be able to do the following along their journey:‬ ● ‬‭ Connect wires, LEDs, and other components to see how electricity flows.‬ ● ‬‭ Use block-based programming to control the micro’s features, from displaying images to detecting‬ ‭ motion.‬ ● ‬‭ Create interactive projects by making fun and useful creations, and even fun games!‬ ● ‬‭ Program and light up the 25 built-in LEDs to show numbers, letters, or fun animations.‬ ● ‬‭ Detect movement and control your projects by utilizing the accelerometer.‬ ● ‬‭ Control lights, buzzers, or motors by connecting the micro to external components!‬ ● ‬‭ Tackle fun challenges and learn how engineers solve problems using technology.‬ ‭ ‭ ‭ ‭ ‭ ‭ ‭ ‭
