Dear MX caregivers and families, The Fall 2025 Malcolm X PTA Enrichment Classes registration opens September 2nd. Please explore courses, view detailed class descriptions, and instructor bios. We have increased Scholarships. We have some NEW classes. ----- IMPORTANT DATES ----- Priority Registration. Monday 9/1 to Thursday 9/11 Scholarship Applications: Monday 9/1 to Monday 9/8* we will hold a spot as we generate the code. Last day to Register. Sunday 9/14 Classes Start: Monday 9/15 Classes End: Monday 12/15 (with make-up Friday 12/19) Classes Days: - Monday – 10 Classes - 9/15 - 12/15 (+ no makeup day)* TK/K 1:35p to 2:20p (45 min) 1st-5th 2:30p to 3:30p (1 hour) - Wednesday 11 Classes - 9/17 - 12/10 (+ 12/17 makeup day)* All 1:35p to 2:35p (1 hour) - Friday – 11 Classes - 9/19 - 12/12 (+ 12/19 makeup day)* TK/K 1:35p to 2:20p (45 min) 1st-5th 2:30p to 3:30p (1 hour) NOTES * Some classes run 90 Minutes and release later than stated above. See Course Descriptions for more info. * Make-up days in the event of an unforeseen cancellation. There is no Monday make-up due to Monday Holidays. * One Class runs only for half a semester. * No classed during the following days: 10/6 & 10/13 Monday holidays. 10/27-10/31 Parent Teacher Conferences. 11/24-11/28 Thanksgiving Break Parents, please arrive promptly at 2:15 (for TK) and 3:30 (for 1st – 5th). Remember all Wednesday is early release day and most classes end at 2:30. ----- SCHOLARSHIPS ----- If you need a scholarship DO NOT SIGN UP FOR THE CLASS. As long as you send in your application BEFORE the class is full we will hold a spot for you. The PTA has INCREASED our Scholarships so we are able to offer additional scholarships. Many are eligible (Typically 1 class, per student / per term). We will generate a scholarship code. Keep in mind, if you accept a scholarship, the PTA will pay the full fee to the teacher for that spot in the class. For this reason, please be sure your student attends class meetings. If you are willing to sponsor a scholarship, please go to the Mx PTA Website's Fundraising page at: https://www.malcolmxelementary.org/. ----- ADMISSION & WAITLIST ----- All Classes have a Minimum number of required students and a Maximum number of accepted students. At the beginning, Registration will be on a First Come / First Signed up basis, until the course reaches its Minimum Number. After that registration will shift to WAITLIST mode where Students who are waitlisted will be added into their classes via lottery Friday 9/12 at noon. For many classes the minimum number is 6-8 and the maximum is 12-16 so all families still have a chance to get into their desired class.
