Azar Kohzadi - Wild Ink Writing Collective“Creative Writing Exploration”Azar Kohzadi is an award-winning writer and teacher who’s taught creative writing for over twenty years to students ranging from age 8-adult. Azar writes and teaches many genres and styles, from ecopoetics to screenwriting, at a number of schools and venues, from Lighthouse Writers Workshop to Denver Botanic Gardens, leading daylong workshops, semester-long courses, as well as summer camps and overnight writing retreats. Azar has dedicated most of her teaching career to Denver School of the Arts (DSA) where she taught full-time for twenty years, mostly as the director of the Creative Writing Department, where she continues teaching today as a visiting artist. Throughout Azar’s time at DSA, she developed creative writing curriculum in all literary genres, oversaw the audition process, created and directed a number of multi-disciplinary performance projects and led several travel-writing excursions. Azar has published poetry, memoir and fiction in a variety of literary magazines, as well as journalistic publications. In 2022 Azar was a lead writer for Culture Dish, a book project involving immigrants and refugees in Denver and their stories connected to food and homeland. Azar created Wild Ink Writing Collective in 2022 with the aim of leading writers of all ages into creative environments, interesting experiences and literary community through workshops that bring creative writing to life and encourage writing as a vehicle to deepen experiences in the world and better understand one's relationship in it.
