Introduction to Film-Making with Montclair Film

DescriptionIn this 1.5 hour long hands-on workshop, students will learn how to generate ideas for their films, and will be introduced to the fundamentals of filmmaking including: shot composition, camera angle, shooting, directing and more. Students will learn to work together, taking on the many jobs involved in filmmaking as they create a 2-3 minute short film of their very own. Typically there are two small groups in a class of 10 and each group will have: A director, a camera operator, an AC (they use the clapper), a sound boom operator, and one or two actors as needed. Students will rotate roles as well, besides the actors who often need to stay consistent. Instructor: Montclair Film Festival

Each student will choose a theme, , the student will decorate a T-shirt and create a pattern for the bottom and learn the basic skills of sewing. Spring Art Explorers with MAM

DescriptionLet's celebrate the wonders of spring! We will explore the magic of the changing seasons: April showers, blooming flowers, Earth Day, local wildlife, and beyond. Young artists will create masterpieces inspired by the beauty of the natural world using such media as drawing, painting, printing, and sculpting. Natural and upcycled "Eco Art" materials will be incorporated. This class will be supplemented by learning materials and demonstrations to support students' mastery of the elements of art.
