DescriptionImprov 101, taught by Rob Asaro. Rob Asaro is an experienced improviser, actor, and comedian. He has performed at notable clubs such as the People's Improv Theater, Caroline's, and the UCB Theater. His sketch comedy has been broadcast on MTV and SiriusXM Radio. The fundamentals of improvisation are the fundamentals of life. Listening, agreeing, forwarding action, taking care of your partner and so much more! You’ll be introduced to those lessons as you play games as well as create characters and scenes using a variety of improv and creativity exercises. You can’t do anything wrong, no experience necessary! The number one rule is to have fun! This class is brought to you by Montclair Film Festival!

The purpose of this course is to get kids to try out America's oldest game created by the Native Americans. This beginner course will teach kids how to pass, catch, shoot, and pick up ground balls. DescriptionBlend, smoosh, stipple, scumble, splat... let's paint! We will draw inspiration from painted works of art in the Montclair Art Museum collection: Indigenous American art, folk art, Impressionism, Modernism, Pop Art, and more. Young artists will create colorful masterpieces using a wide variety of paints such as acrylic, ink, tempera, and watercolor. This class will be supplemented by learning materials and demonstrations to support students’ exploration of painting. This class is brought to you by Montclair Art Museum.

Ms. Jessica's Dance Workshop

DescriptionIn this dance class children will explore the joy of movement through imaginative play and guided activities. They’ll engage in fun exercises that blend dance, storytelling, and physical exploration, helping them develop coordination, rhythm, and body awareness. Through dynamic games and creative prompts, each child is encouraged to express themselves freely while building confidence and social skills in a supportive environment. Jessica has been dancing since she was 3, holds a BFA in dance performance and choreography, and had a professional career performing and choreographing in NYC for 13 years. She has taught dance to children, college dance majors, and professionals. She is so excited to return to teaching after a long momming break. Instructor: Edgemont parent Jessica Cikanek.
