Description
Do you have a K-4 student who enjoys playing chess—or one who’s curious to learn? Would they like the chance to be coached by a National Chess Master and even prepare for fun, beginner-friendly tournaments? If so, this club is the perfect opportunity!
The Beginner/Intermediate Combo class allows eager young students to learn and practice for two hours- we will have activities, games, and exercises catered to their level, and they will even have the opportunity to challenge advanced students! First hour is only K-4 students- second hour also includes K-5 to K-8 learners.
Chess offers so many benefits for students: it builds focus, critical thinking, problem-solving, patience, and resilience—all while giving them a fun and rewarding activity to share with friends. Whether your child is brand new to the game or already plays, they’ll grow in confidence and skill while having a great time.
We’re thrilled to welcome Coach Truman, a 2-Time National Scholastic Champion, Top 10 U.S. Open Finisher, and National Master with a USCF rating of 2180. He’s also the founder of Tampa Champions Chess and has a passion for helping young players reach their potential both on and off the board.
This is a wonderful chance for students to learn from a true master and experience all the lifelong benefits chess has to offer!

What to bring
No supplies needed. All supplies will be provided for this activity.
Cancellation policy
Cancellations must be within 24 hours of the event, otherwise parents and schools will be charged the full amount. Make-up weeks are encouraged but not mandatory.
