Educator and Author, Boosting Critical Thinking and Creativity
Hello! I am Mike Stoumbos, and I'm excited to work with all kinds of students in creative workshops and problem-solving classes.
(for the kids) I am a published author who writes fantasy and science fiction. I really enjoy theatre and music, and have had some really fun experiences performing professionally. I live with a bright red parrot who also likes to sing. My favorite activities are those that allow me to create something, and I'd like to help you do the same.
(for the parents) I am a WA-State certificated teacher, licensed to teach (and experienced teaching) Math, English Language Arts, and Theatre. I have a Masters in Teaching from the University of Washington, where I also did my undergraduate work, as well as an international cert to Teach English as a Foreign Language (I-TEFL). I have taught in traditional classrooms for 6 years, as well as a combination of tutoring and enrichment work for another 6.
