Description
We are excited to offer this course to introduce students to the world of programming and artificial intelligence (AI). In this course we combine foundational concepts and innovative applications of both disciplines to cultivate an understanding and appreciation of how technology shapes our world. The course is designed to spark curiosity and inspire a lasting interest in computer science and AI, highlighting how these tools can be used for good in fields such as environmental science, medicine, and everyday life. Appreciating the importance of making learning engaging and relevant, our curriculum will be a mix of activities and projects that are enlightening and enjoyable. Students will explore how computers and algorithms function, delve into the basics of coding, and discover the role of AI in solving real-world problems. Drawing on high-quality educational resources, including materials from the renowned learning platform code.org, our course is crafted to be both fun and educational. It aims to empower students by developing their skills in logical thinking and problem solving through coding. While we explore these topics, our focus will remain on making the content accessible and entertaining without overwhelming students. Cancellation policy
For Enrichment Classes During the School Year: If a family new to our program provides notification before the 2nd class of their FIRST session, they will receive a pro-rata refund for unused classes, less a $40 processing fee. If you are a returning student, no refunds will be issued due to unforeseen scheduling conflicts (school play, new activities, etc). If you move to a new school district and can no longer attend an in-person class, you will have the option to switch to an online class or receive a pro-rata credit towards future classes and camps. For Summer Camp: Cancellation requests received 45 days before the first day of the camp : Full refund. Cancellation requests received 15 days before the first day of the camp : 50% refund. NO credits or refunds given if the cancellation request is received less than 15 days before the first day of the camp.
