DescriptionWelcome to an exciting journey into the world of radio-controlled trucks! In each class, students will seamlessly connect STEM concepts to the hands-on experience of building their own Traxxas SLASH racing trucks. They'll dive into key STEM principles, including mathematics, physics, engineering, and manufacturing. As they assemble their trucks, students will learn how to fine-tune and race them, applying the theories they've mastered. The session culminates in a thrilling final project, where students put their STEM knowledge and driving skills to the test by launching their trucks across a 25ft ravine. Success will hinge on precise calculations and solid driving skills.
Key concepts covered include solving equations, using measurement and hand tools, calculating velocities, understanding centers of gravity, and applying kinematic equations of projectile motion, tuning camber/toe, racing techniques. Students will be provided with all the necessary tools and equipment to build their trucks. Each participant will receive the Radio Control Truck Session 1.0 build/STEM manual, and of course, they get to take their trucks home!
