DescriptionFreeWild is an introduction to urban naturalism whose primary goals are to get your kids outside and to create within them a deeper connection with the natural world. Through outdoor education, imaginative play, and cooperation, our aim is to inspire kids to understand the value of mindful stewardship. Our instructor is certified in outdoor education and ecology through Alderleaf Wilderness College, and has years of experience as a childcare professional. At the core of our ethos lies a passionate belief in the power of community engagement, and it is from this place of expertise and philosophy that we hope to inspire the next generation of Earth’s caretakers. Welcome to the Freewild Society, we are glad you are here.
**Please ensure that students come prepared to spend the afternoon in the forest, in weather appropriate clothing and shoes. Hiking shoes or sneakers that can get dirty are best, flip-flops, crocs, or hard soled shoes do not work well in the hilly, muddy terrain of Schmitz Park.
