Description
Join Céilí Club, an Irish dance after-school program that incorporates exciting new choreography, traditional céilí, games, instruments, arts & crafts, and whatever other fun surprises Lucky the Leprechaun has up his sleeve! No experience necessary. Open to grades 1-5. (Ks can sign up starting in November).

General class structure:
-We begin with a silly "goof-up" to channel that after-school burst of energy, followed by our warm-up and our across-the-floor drills, focusing on our technique.
-Next, we stretch together in a circle and share a fun fact about ourselves.
-We learn new choreography as well as traditional céilí/group dancing, with a jam sesh (with instruments!) in between.
-We finish off with an opportunity for creative expression: through a game, improv challenge, arts & crafts, or whatever fun surprise Lucky the Leprechaun has up his sleeve!
-We share what we're proud of from class while stretching and finish it off with...stickers!

Céilí Club! Irish Dance After-School Program
Hi there! I'm Irene, owner of the Caitríona Irish Dance school. I've worked professionally in education and childcare for 10 years: 2 years in Chile and 8 years in the US. I Irish danced competitively for over 20 years, and have had the privilege of competing all over the world, including in Scotland, Argentina, and of course, Ireland! I am a three-time world qualifier, twice in solo dancing and once in the group dancing category (céilí) on a team of 16! Since opening my school in August 2024, I've brought my Irish dance enrichment program to 7 different elementary schools, I teach weekly classes at a studio, I hosted summer camps at Colorado Academy in July, I performed in Blaine Donovan's debut Irish song and dance show: Celtica, and I host community céilí nights every month, so I'm delighted to bring the merriment and cultural richness of Irish dance back to your school!
Fun fact: I was introduced to Irish dance through an after-school program when I was just 5 years old, so I am thrilled to be doing the same for the next generation with Céilí Club.
