DescriptionThis fall, our upper elementary Chinese class invites curious and motivated learners to explore the language through meaningful, hands-on projects and cultural themes. Designed for students in Grades 3–5, this class goes beyond basic vocabulary and helps students deepen their understanding through weekly topics like ordering food, exploring Chinese speaking countries, experiencing Chinese Festivals like the Moon Festival..
In every 1.5-hour session, students will:
- Practice speaking, listening, reading, and writing in Chinese
- Use different writing tools to strengthen character recognition
- Work on leveled, theme-based projects suited to their individual language abilities
- Dive into Chinese culture with calligraphy, brush painting, and storytelling
- Build confidence through collaborative and creative expression
✨ Extended Learning Opportunity:
This year, our 2-day-per-week program will run 26 classes, all the way through late December—giving students more time to solidify their skills and keep the momentum going between semesters! It offers a rich environment for extended language growth, cultural appreciation, and joyful learning.
