Description
Calling all rockers! This summer, join a real rock band. During this week long Summer at Sequoyah program, we will come up with a band name, learn and practice 3-4 songs that we will choose as a group and perform for Summerhouse campers at the end of the week. This program is perfect for young musicians with 1+ years of experience on their instrument who want the opportunity to play and perform with other kids. All instruments are welcome!
The band will be led by guitarist, composer and current after-school music teacher at Sequoyah Dan Meyer. In addition to his years of teaching experience, Dan is the founder and guitar player of the rising heavy metal band Agriculture, and a composer of film music. Each day will consist of group rehearsals, individual practice time including 1-on-1 guidance from Dan, a lunch break, and an informal music appreciation ‘class’ which may cover music history, theory, or other musical topics depending on interests in the class.
