DescriptionThis camp is focused on mathematics and creative problem solving.
Activities will include:
(1) solving problems from math competitions, including Kangaroo, MOEM, Fan4, UKMT, AMC8, based on age/ability level;
(2) games, including Nim, Cram, Mastermind, Othello, Connect-4, SET, a variety of card games, etc
(3) a wide range of puzzles, including Japanese logic puzzles, proprietary 3D block puzzles and 2D logic puzzles, and Graph Theory challenges;
(4) spatial intelligence challenges, including geomagics, folding puzzles, and questions based on Hopkins Spatial Battery test;
(5) building challenges, including Zome, tetrahedral blocks, and magna-tiles - all the activities your kids love)
(6) *NEW* afternoon electives; Chess, Mah Jong, Backgammon, Art, and Creative Writing are some examples.
Grades: 2-6, students grouped by grade (with flexibility as needed)
**PLEASE NOTE: This camp is not designed for students who are struggling in math or want to “catch up” on math; for that, please contact Coach K to arrange for a private tutor.
Playground time and/or indoor 'down-time' will be scheduled each morning and afternoon.
Please, remember to bring lunch and a snack.
