Step into the world of 3D animation and virtual reality in this immersive, two-week summer camp where creativity meets cutting-edge technology! It’s hard to find a blockbuster movie, a hit video game, or even a TV commercial that doesn’t rely on CGI and 3D animation to captivate audiences. For the past 21 years, 3D Animation Studio has taken the "Pixar approach" to animation design, helping students bring their ideas to life just like the pros. Campers begin with the foundation of great storytelling—because behind every unforgettable animation is a compelling idea. From there, they’ll develop their vision through sketching and digital modeling, using industry-standard software like SketchUp Make, Fusion 360, and Tinkercad, before taking their designs to the next level in 3ds Max, the #1 rated 3D animation software in the world. In the second week, students will push beyond traditional animation and into Virtual Reality, working at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock’s Emerging Analytics Center to develop immersive presentations in 3ds Max and Unity. The experience culminates on July 18th with a 3D immersive showcase, where family and guests will step into their creations using HTC Vive (VR), Oculus, and a room-sized Computer Assisted Virtual Environment (CAVE)—a truly mind-blowing experience!
