Description*NO CAMP ON JULY 4 - This is a 4 day session.
Elementary aged children enjoy a week of being outside and doing purposeful work. Young Stewards gather for a farmers’ meeting, often with a song and a game, before heading off to do their animal chores, like feeding the goats and collecting eggs from the chickens. They also experience farm-based crafts, such as working with wool and making cheese. Campers cool off on hot days with water games, and stories told under tall shady trees.
If you have a rising first grader and you are unsure whether Sprouts or Young Farmers is the best choice, please feel free to reach out to us, especially if this is your first year attending Farm Camp. In Sprouts, there is a more predictable and tempered pace to the day with a quiet/rest/sleep time while in Young Farmers there is room for more independence a greater range in ages.
