DescriptionCourse description:
The class will teach you to paint miniatures step by step, along with everything you need to take into account to bring small-scale figurines to life with your own hands. Immerse yourself in painting, volumetric, and color techniques to spark creativity and awaken your inner child. Learn all the basics of mini painting, from setup and supplies to mini care and transport. Specifically we will cover how to apply a base coat and highlights as well as using a dry brush and wash to add depth and detail to your mini. While the class is designed for beginners, all skill levels are welcome to join us and share their creations. We will provide all materials needed for the class and participants can choose a miniature from our available selection, or they can bring their own.
Material Fees include a large box of unpainted miniature creatures (including a dragon), paint brushes (to keep after all classes are done), paint, primer, pallets, and other support tools.
Course benefits:
- Creating through art teaches fine motor skills, promotes neural development, and improves visual-spatial processing. Each of these improvements can be applied to academic study subjects such as reading, writing, math, and science.
- Through art, a child learns to express feelings and memories using more than just words. For children that are coping with trauma, the loss of a parent or caregiver, divorce, or other distress, making art can be an avenue for release and create a sense of relief.
- When they see the results of their own work, children are self-validated. Their boost in self-esteem comes not from the words of others but from their own sense of accomplishment.
