Mountain biking class I will take kids out onto the nearby trails of Marin County Open space to explore our backyard by bike. During the rides kids will build on their climbing, cornering and descending mountain bike skills, learn our trail systems, nature awareness and local plant identification. I hope to instill good attitude and perseverance in the kids and share my love of nature and bikes! I will also incorporate some bike maintenance and repair into the sessions. BIO: Rachel Lloyd (RVC mom) doesn’t like to brag, so we wrote this bio for her :) She has raced in every sort of elite mountain biking event you can imagine and was ranked top-ten worldwide in cyclocross. Hardly anyone in Fairfax—the birthplace of the mountain bike—knows more about the sport than this woman. RVC mom Liz Canning says her kids: “did 2 weeks of Rachel’s mountain bike camp this past summer and it transformed them! They loved it so much, and have become such confident little cyclists as a result. The kids’ riding time was broken up with exploring beautiful places beyond the trails.”
