Description
Bytes for Bits is an after school program for elementary school kids, teaching the fundamentals of computer software coding. We provide a project-based lesson environment where students learn in a fun and collaborative setting while nurturing their creative abilities. Students will code on one or more of these platforms: Scratch, Scratch Junior, Code.org, Made With Code, Kodable, Tynker, Hopscotch and CodeSpark. This series is designed for first time coders. Children that have attended this course before may return if they wish to reinforce their knowledge before moving to the next level.
NOTE: Due to staffing shortages, this course is only 5 classes.

Bytes for Bits is a weekly after school program that teaches the fundamentals of computer coding. We provide an environment that is fun, collaborative, and full of creativity. Our goal is to show students that coding can be fun, while also building the skills which support STEM (Science Technology Engineering & Math) learning.
