DescriptionThis course covers the fundamentals of how to apply mathematics to the real world. Students will learn the essential skill of translating problems into equations or mathematical expressions. Intuitive examples will be presented as an introduction to various mathematical models. In the spirit of applied mathematics, the course will utilize technology (desmos for graphs, basic python programming for automating computations etc) to facilitate problem solving. Various applications will be covered in finance, geometry, statistics, and the life sciences.

DescriptionThere is so much to the world of math that kids don't see in school! In our classes, your kids will discover that math is visual, hands-on, and FUN! Our program focuses on creative problem solving in Mathematics. Students work together tackling fun problems from Math Kangaroo, Math Olympiads, and informal team competitions. Mathletes will be solving fun problems every week in practice. Work is started in class with print-outs, and often continued at home. We also play math games and tackle a variety of puzzles throughout the school year. We have an online curriculum that contains a large number of assignments that vary by theme and difficulty. This gives students the opportunity to tackle fun problems outside of class. Our ultimate goal is to help students become tenacious problem solvers who love math. Math Basics and Beyond

DescriptionWe love math and we love coaching kids! In this class we will show students that math is visual, hands-on, and fun. Priority number one is to make sure students are comfortable with the material they are learning in school. Coaches will help students with homework and have manipulatives available to illuminate difficult concepts. We will also take excursions each week and have fun developing our problem solving skills, logical reasoning, and spatial intelligence through a range of games, puzzles, building challenges, and problems from Math Kangaroo and Math Olympiad - competitions that are famous for fun problems that you don't find in a typical math curriculum in most public or private schools.
