DescriptionStudents will study the methodology of Graffiti and Street Art. Students will learn and apply proper techniques and procedures in order to produce a high-quality product to acceptable illustration and design industry standards. Students will develop their style from concept through completion and understand the importance of all phases of preparation and production. Students will produce designs and layouts manually and will build their projects using various art mediums. The goal and objective of the graffiti curriculum is to review with students the history and tradition of “Writing” by showing different techniques and styles of graffiti art and making connections between visual art and social messages. Los estudiantes estudiarán la metodología de Graffiti y Street Art. Los estudiantes aprenderán y aplicarán técnicas y procedimientos adecuados a fin de producir un producto de alta calidad a los estándares de la industria de la ilustración y el diseño aceptables. DescriptionThis class focuses on learning the fundamentals through sketches and brief notes followed by a project to apply lesson of the day. Our goal is to teach students how to simplify the world around them and be able to draw from imagination as we increase our practice. Projects may include cartooning, anime, and figure drawing. All supplies provided.

HSPT Prep

DescriptionThe class will cover all sections on the HSPT, and also teach students the problem-solving strategies and techniques to be successful in each section. There will be homework assigned. The session starts with a baseline diagnostic test and ends with a mock exam. Statistics on test scores, working memory, and processing speed will be provided. A highlight of the prep is adaptive teaching. Based on individual AND group results, the teacher can focus each week's content to strengthen areas of weaknesses. Session 1: First HSPT Practice Test (3 hours) Session 2: Intro, Verbal (2hrs) Session 3: Quantitative Reasoning and Math (2hrs) Session 4: Reading, Vocabulary (2hrs) Session 5: Grammar, Punctuation, Spelling (2hrs Session 6: Third HSPT Practice Test in-person (3hrs) Session 7: Math/Geometry/Algebra (2hrs) Session 8: Comprehensive Review (2hrs)
