by liang yu DescriptionHello fellow mathlete! We’re excited to bring the Math Olympiad (https://moems.org/information/) to Beach Elementary for the 2025-2026 season, and hope you will join us!
Math Olympiad is a fun math competition for students in 3rd through 5th grades. Students will meet once a week to practice challenging, out-of-the-box problems, and talk about how to solve them - helping each other learn and finding new ways to solve interesting problems.
The team members will then have contests once a month, from December to April, where they can put all of that learning to use! They’ll solve five math problems in a 30 minute period. Sounds easy, huh? Think you can do better than the other 120k mathletes around the country? Then sign up!
Of course, contests wouldn’t be contests without prizes, right? MOEMS gives out awards - a trophy to the top contestant at the school, individual awards to the top 50% of finishers nationwide, and team awards depending on the overall performance of the team!
