CHB Enrichment“CHB 2024-2025”CHB presents our Fall 2024 ASE season. After-School Enrichment will be offering many of the favorite classes from the past as well as several exciting new courses. ASE begins February 24 and ends April 17. The goal of the program is to provide all Bullock families and students with quality, affordable after-school enrichment classes that are fun and inspiring. **Tuition assistance is available for one class per child. A student receiving financial aid is eligible for one class only (i.e., you may not pay for a class and receive financial aid for a different class). If you are applying for financial aid, please reach out to the Student Assistance Counselor, Lauren Gutierrez, lgutierrez@montclair.k12.nj.us** If you need ANY HELP OR ASSISTANCE filling out the registration form, please reach out to us at chbenrichment@gmail.com.

James and the Giant Peach

DescriptionExplore acting scenes from Roald Dahl's classic children’s novel James and the Giant Peach! All participating students will be assigned roles and given the opportunity to explore foundational skills and acting techniques taught through games, exercises and scene work. For the finale, parents will be invited to attend a performance workshop of the play. ¡Explora escenas de actuación de la clásica novela infantil de Roald Dahl, James y el melocotón gigante! DescriptionThis fun and engaging creative movement class offers students a chance to explore movement through games, music, and imaginative play and choreography. Each session encourages creativity, helps improve motor skills and fosters a love for movement and dance. This class is taught by Montclair Renaissance Middle School Dance Teacher Nina Lorusso. Each week will feature exciting experiments, playful challenges, and interactive games that make learning about circuits a blast! Whether they’re lighting up a project or sending a mini car zooming, kids will be amazed by the power of electricity and their own creativity. ¡Descubre la magia de la electricidad! Desde la creación de sus propios circuitos sencillos hasta la construcción de zumbadores y luces brillantes, los estudiantes participarán en actividades prácticas que despertarán su curiosidad sobre cómo funciona la electricidad. DescriptionThe 5th Grade CHB Yearbook Club is a fun and creative opportunity for students to come together to design and edit their yearbook. Club members work on selecting photos, writing captions, and organizing the pages to capture key memories and special moments of their elementary school experience. It's a great opportunity for students to express their creativity, enhance teamwork skills, and leave a lasting memory for their classmates. This class will be co-taught by CHB teachers Liza Nin and Kieran Troisi. El Club del Anuario de 5.o grado de CHB es una oportunidad divertida y creativa para que los estudiantes se reúnan para diseñar y editar su anuario. Los miembros del club trabajan en la selección de fotografías, la redacción de títulos y la organización de las páginas para capturar recuerdos clave y momentos especiales de su experiencia en la escuela primaria. DescriptionDo your kids love fun workouts that improve self-esteem and develop inner strength? Then it’s time to try the Korean martial art known as Kumdo! Students will explore the basic movements of the bamboo sword and begin to learn how to engage in a Kumdo match or sparring. This class will be offered by Master Samuel Ralosky, a graduate of the Montclair Public Schools and a 4th degree Blackbelt, who runs the Hong Moo Kwan Montclair Kumdo club. ¿A tus hijos les encantan los ejercicios divertidos que mejoran la autoestima y desarrollan la fuerza interior? Entonces, ¡es hora de probar el arte marcial coreano conocido como Kumdo! Los estudiantes explorarán los movimientos básicos de la espada de bambú y comenzarán a aprender cómo participar en un combate de Kumdo o sparring. Esta clase será impartida por el Maestro Samuel Ralosky, un graduado de las Escuelas Públicas de Montclair y cinturón negro de cuarto grado, que dirige el club Hong Moo Kwan Montclair Kumdo.
