by Seattle Japanese Club DescriptionThis Japanese Club is open to all students, whether they are learning Japanese for the first time or have studied it before.
In the first half of class, students will practice everyday Japanese greetings and learn the 46 Hiragana letters using worksheets. Continuing students will also learn Katakana (another 46 letters) and basic Kanji characters.
In the second half of class, students will enjoy a variety of traditional and seasonal Japanese activities each week, such as:
・ Tea ceremony
・ Kimono day and traditional festivals
・ Origami
・ Anime, movies, and Japanese characters
・ Japanese songs and dance, and more
During class, students will also have the opportunity to sample small portions of store-bought Japanese snacks. With school approval, we may also try making simple Japanese foods such as rice balls.
Parents, please let us know in advance if your child has any food allergies.
