Native Plant and Garden Club

DescriptionCome join Ms. Emma and Ms. Jeannie for fun filled adventures with native plants and the garden. Activities include plant and garden centered arts & crafts, growing projects, harvesting and tasting, and exploring what the plants have to teach us! Some activities include making custom take-home tea blends, creating your own succulent terrarium, and learning about native plant medicine. 1st graders - 5th graders welcome. We'll have a range of developmentally engaging activities.

DescriptionLet's create! Do you love to upcycle, invent, take things apart or invent? This is the club for you. We'll use a variety of materials to make books, stuffies, sculptures, toys, and anything you can imagine. There will be a balance of modelled projects and free exploration and creation. If you've got a stash of "good boxes" or "doo-dads" that have too much potential use to toss, bring 'em in!

DescriptionJoin our coding community! Newbies and experienced coders are all welcome! Bring your school laptop and we'll use block-based programming to solve, create stories, games, music and anything we can imagine! We'll collaborate, use computational thinking, problem solve, sample each other's projects and learn to program microbits (tiny output devices). More experienced 2nd graders who are up for the challenge may join this club.

Coding Club K-2

DescriptionLet's learn to be creators of technology! We'll use our school ipads and some physical tools to learn fundamentals of computer science through games, puzzles, digital storytelling and collaboration. There will be some "unplugged" activities as well as "screen time", and plenty of collaboration. Note to K parents; this might be a long day for k students in the fall, and you know your child best. There will be time for snacks!
