Each student will come home with unique art projects and inspiration to keep creating long after class ends. Led by a credentialed teacher with over 25 years of experience in elementary education who is also a practicing artist, this workshop provides a supportive environment for young artists to grow, explore, and enjoy the creative process. Art Workshop- Color, Craft, Create

DescriptionThis is a class for those who love to draw, paint, craft and create. All new projects are planned and will include three-dimensional art-making. Our thoroughline will continue to be developing foundational art skills while exploring a variety of art materials. Students will come home with fun creative pieces and plenty of ideas for further art-making. For those who don’t know me- I have been teaching elementary students for over 20 years at PUSD and elsewhere and for the last few years in the after school programs at the three PUSD elementary schools. Along with a teaching credential from Mills College, I have a certificate in Art Learning Integration from the California College of Arts. I enjoy studio time experimenting and creating and love sharing my art practice and discoveries with others. Please write if you have any questions.

Mixed-Media Magic

DescriptionWith the luxury of five consecutive afternoons of art-making we will have the opportunity to take deep dives into the rich world of mixed-media art. We will work with water-based paints, inks, amendments, stamps and stencils, collaging and layering as we create in a variety of genres- botanical, landscape, abstract, pattern and design. I am planning all new projects for those who have attended my weekly mixed-media art classes and am excited to share some new-to-me techniques and materials while keeping a focus on the elements of art (color, line, shape, composition, scale, space and beyond). Along with demonstrations there will be lots of time for creating as well as reading inspiring books and looking at the work of other artists, including our own! Students will come home with fun projects along with ideas for further art-making.

Students will come home with fun projects as well as ideas for further art-making including a "recipe" guide based on our shared projects. This class is designed for both new and returning students.
