Yvonne Williams“Award winning artist/author uses her talent to teach children how to create stories and/or draw.”Yvonne Williams is a para-professional at Lecanto Primary School in Citrus County, Florida working with ESE students and teaching Media Specials to PreK through 2nd grade children. Yvonne believes that the arts (visual and written) are an integral part of a child’s development, especially in the formative years. In her early years as an artist, Yvonne studied the works of the Renaissance Artists as well as modern-day Masters and became involved in art groups in her area. To gain support for her developing craft, she joined the American Society of Portrait Artists and The American Society of Classical Realism. She was afforded the opportunity to study with Russian Graphite Artist, Andre Kohn, which solidified her love of the pencil. Master Artist, John DeLavega said of her portrait titled, Bill and Buck, “That Portrait of the man and his dog is a masterpiece.” While calming her concerns as an emerging artist, DeLavega’s advice ended with much wisdom: "Let your work speak for itself”. Many of Yvonne's art works have received awards from Honorable mention to First place to People’s Choice awards. She is most known by families across the US for her portraits of people and animals. Many are included in her book, "Anna's Friends Love to Draw: Learning the Basics of Drawing" which will be used as the foundation for this class. Yvonne taught private drawing lessons for a few years to children and adults in her art studio/gallery in Alabama. By the end of this 7-week course, the student can expect to have a solid foundation about the basics of drawing, light, tone and value, silhouette, contour, and gesture drawing; all elements that are foundational to not only drawing exceptional works of art, but other art mediums as well. The student that completes all 7 classes will receive the book, “Anna’s Friends Love to Draw: Learning the Basics of Drawing". A self-published Author, Yvonne is the creator of the registered trademarked children's book series, Anna's Friends, a collection of over 15 books for PreK through 5th grade. She has authored a dozen inspirational books for adults. Visit www.annasfriends.com to review the collection. She is an animal lover and co-parent to fur-kid, Luke, an 8-year-old American Eskimo Teddy Bear, nicknamed joy-bringer, and loves to garden. Yvonne's love for children prompted her and husband Marion to start a non-profit organization in 2011, “Trafficking in America Task Force” working with victims of human trafficking and educating across America.
