DescriptionHip Hop Creative Dance is a fun, high-energy class that builds confidence, creativity, and athleticism through music, movement, and imagination. Led by Andre Cole of Cole Arts Camp, students are introduced to the foundations of Hip Hop dance through freestyle, choreography, games, and dynamic group activities. Students explore a wide range of Hip Hop styles that use techniques including popping, waving, tutting, gliding, footwork, breaking, animation, and more. They develop both personal expression and collaborative skills through a blend of structured exercises and improvisation—nurturing play, imagination, and self-expression in every dancer. Each week builds movement vocabulary through games, guided practice, and creative prompts. Freestyle segments encourage students to find their flow, while choreography fosters discipline and group connection. The session concludes with a live showcase for families featuring both choreographed routines and student freestyles. To keep classes immersive and focused, Andre incorporates live drumming, a high-quality sound system, and clear mic instruction. Students learn to connect their movements with rhythms, melodies, lyrics, and the storytelling within music—from classic Hip Hop and house to instrumental beats, movie soundtracks, pop, and rock—offering something to spark every dancer’s creativity. Rooted in the spirit of Hip Hop—community, originality, and expression without judgment—this class creates a supportive space where every student is encouraged to move with purpose and joy.
