DescriptionIn this session, your child will learn techniques on how to sculpt using clay, cardboard, wire/metal, and other mixed media. Your child can choose to work on one piece for the session or work on multiple. I would really like to encourage your child to focus on the process rather than a finished project. I want to allow them to learn through trial and error rather than make a replica of something I would do. They have a better imagination than I do and I'm going to allow them to chose their projects and supplies based where their imagination takes them. I will provide examples and photos to get the creative juices flowing but will allow them to have some flexibility.

Drama Kids Composite Class

DescriptionOur Composite Classes are theater lessons designed for ages 6 – 10 and includes a variety of stimulating dramatic lessons perfectly suited for most elementary students. As within all of our drama programs, composite students receive individual instruction customized for their own particular requirements and abilities. Students in our Composite drama program participate in a wide range of creative activities including speech, dramatic movement, improvisation, snippets and scene starters. At the end of each year they utilize all the skills acquired during the year to perform a short, scripted production for parents and friends. In a fun-filled atmosphere, our theater lessons aim to give young people ongoing confidence, self-esteem and skill in verbal communication.

Audition Prep Workshop

DescriptionFor many young actors, “audition” can be a very scary word. The goal of this workshop is to help students conquer that fear and show up to their next (or first!) audition feeling empowered, prepared, and confident. Whether you’re just starting out or you’ve already been to dozens of auditions, a little guidance and encouragement goes a long way toward helping you show up and show out on audition day. Students who participate in this workshop will have a song and monologue selected especially for them that highlights their personal strengths as actors, and they will receive coaching and direction on how to execute their pieces. At the end of the session, we will host a “mock audition” to give students an opportunity to practice their material in front of a panel of “auditors” who will give constructive feedback (to be shared privately with each student). Parents are welcome to attend and celebrate the students’ bravery and hard work.

This one of a kind class combines art, acting, filmmaking, and editing for a fun hands-on time with CinemaKidz! The class begins with learning and practicing fun painting techniques with friends, using a variety of tempera and watercolor paints, various brushes, a tabletop wooden easel and several canvases. Once kidz have some painting skills down, participants will move on to planning their tv persona and the concept of their very own painting and art show. Every student will receive a custom painting kit including a fun costume element which they will take home at the end of the course. Kids will film and edit their show(s), and explore both hands-on art as well as media and technology elements.
