Description
In this class, we will work on Havens' very own student-run podcast about the happenings of Havens and our community! Students will become journalists as they explore the art of storytelling through interviews, research, and script writing. Each week, students will work together to brainstorm ideas, write interview questions, report on exciting events, and record their voices for the monthly show. While students won’t be editing the audio themselves (this will happen thanks to supportive husband Camilo of Cuentero Productions), they’ll learn how a podcast comes together from start to finish and take pride in being the voices behind it! Perfect for curious minds who love asking questions, sharing stories, and being part of a creative team.

About the provider
Before becoming an educator, I was a journalist and podcast producer at NPR and The Washington Post. For the past six years, I have worked in education and I am excited to guide young reporters in creating a student podcast and to help them develop strong journalistic values like curiosity, clarity, and integrity—all while having fun and building confidence in their voices.
