I am a dedicated elementary teacher who has a proven track record of successfully teaching grades 1-6, with a passion for IB education and a commitment to optimizing individual student and whole school success. I am currently a teacher at a magnet school in Tampa. At my current school, I am the workshop facilitator for Code.org and CS Fundamentals. I am a huge advocate for improving technology in our classrooms and am the recipient of grants in excess of $30,000 to help improve technology.
In addition to my work in helping students discover the power of computer science, I have served on our school's committees and task forces focused on curriculum development, textbook review, writing curriculum and training in all subject areas. I was twice honored as Ida S. Baker Diversity Educator of the Year. I create a welcoming learning experience for all students and have taught general education students, gifted students and individuals with
learning challenges within a mainstreamed, inclusive classroom.
I care deeply about my students and as my current principal says, “..... Her dedication to education is evident in her work, and she’s always willing to “go the extra mile” in the fulfilling of her duties.... She has built a large repertoire of strategies to address student learning and outcomes...”
